General
- Can I park my car at VanCraft while on my trip?
Yes you can – we offer free parking for one vehicle per booking.
- Where can I pick up my van?
Currently, our two depots are 250 Via Del Norte, Oceanside, CA 92058 and 4901 E 38th Ave, Denver, CO 80207.
- When can I pick up my rental van?
We are open for pick-ups seven days a week from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are allowed free of charge. Please keep in mind that an extra cleaning fee will be charged if you do not clean up after your doggo, and that you are responsible for all damage to the van.
- I’m flying in, how do I get to Vancraft?
San Diego: The most cost effective way to get to our depot in Oceanside is to travel by train. The Coaster train service runs regularly with stations close to the airport and Our shop in Oceanside. Let us know when your train will be arriving at the Oceanside Station and we’ll come pick you up! Checkout the train schule here. The next is via Uber or Lyft – both have fast pickup times in the greater San Diego and LA area.
Denver: Train transportation from the Denver airport is easy and reliable, the 40th & Colorado station is just a 1/2 mile from our depot. Let us know what time your train is scheduled to arrive and we’ll pick you up. Train Schdules can be found here.
Other popular Denver airport transportaion options are Uber and Lyft.
Traveling
- Can I take my rental out of the country?
We do allow our vans into Canada, but please contact us for details.
- I want to rent a van, but don’t know where to go with it, any suggestions?

- Where can I camp in my Sprinter campervan?
Anywhere! We encourage you to get out and explore beyond the campgrounds, using resources like the i-Overlander app to find free camping. Please be courteous to others, and pay attention to street parking signs when parking overnight; you are responsible for parking violations while the van is in your possession.
- Do you let renters go to music festivals?
Music festivals are incredible experiences, but they can be extraordinarily tough on our vans. While we do allow renters with prior approval to bring our vans to these events, there’s a $700 fee to account for the additional cleaning and considerable wear and tear on the vehicle. Additionally, a higher security deposit is required to ensure the van’s protection during the festival.
- Do you offer one way rentals?

- How much does it cost to book a van?
Our campervan rental pricing varies based on the day. To receive a live quote, please input your desired location and vehicle into the quote bar on the home page or click “Book Now” in the menu bar.
- Is there a minimum number of days for rentals?
Yes, we have a three day minimum for van reservations.
- Will I be charged for mileage?
We include 125 free miles per day with all of our campervan rentals. If the van comes back with more than the allotted mileage, the customer will be charged according to the following fee schedule: Sprinter $0.69/mi; Micro Campervan $0.49/mi This mileage allowance gives our customers the freedom to use our vans for their intended use without having to worry about purchasing mileage packages upfront.
- Are there any hidden charges or rates?
No, all charges to you will be clearly defined and outlined during the checkout process.
- Is there a fee for additional drivers?
No there is not.
- The dates I want to book are not available, now what?
Keep in touch with us! You never know if there has been a cancellation or another van has been added to the fleet.
- What is your cancellation policy?
We require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $300 or 20% of your rental, whichever is greater. Cancellations at least 7 days prior to pick up date will only result in forfeit of the deposit. Within 7 days of pick up date, cancellations are subject to a 50% charge of the total rental fees. Reservations may be rescheduled at no charge at least 14 days prior to the pick-up date. Reservations may be rescheduled up to the day of pick up for a 20% fee. There is no cancellation or option to reschedule the reservation within 24 hours of the date of pick up, and the rental will be charged in full.
- Is there a deposit to book?
Yes the deposit to reserve your dates is either $300 or 20% of your total rental, whichever is greater.
The Campervans
- Are your vans manual or automatic?
All of our vans are automatic.
- What will I need to bring with me?
Most everything you need to be comfortable is stocked in the van. All you’ll need are toiletries, and to stock the fridge with your favorite foods before hitting the road.
- Do the vans have a bathroom?
Our Sprinter vans come with an energy efficient, hot-water, outdoor shower with 20 gallon water storage. Micro modle vans have an outdoor 7 gallon solar shower. You have the option to add a Thetford 135 cartridge toilet, which can be stowed under the bench seat inside of the cabin.
- Is there heat and A/C in the vans?
All of our vans have A/C via the factory dashboard HVAC system. Sprinter model vans have an auxiliary diesel heater that can run 24/7, as well as a back up “Buddy” propane heater. Micro model vans include an electric blanket, and sleeping bags to stay warm during winter.
- How many people fit in the vans?
Our Long van seats 6 and our Short van seats 4. The Micro camper seats 2.
- Do you sell campervans?

- Do your campervans have a tow hitch?
All of our Sprinter model vans have a standard tow hitch but are not allowed to tow trailers; the hitch is for the use of a bike rack only. The Micro model vans do not have a tow hitch.
- Are your vans 4x4?
No, our Sprinter model vans are rear-wheel drive and Micro model vans are front-wheel drive.
- How old are your campervans?
All of our Sprinter and Micro vans are year model 2015 and newer. With conversions installations no older than 3 years.
- What happens if I break down?
In the event of mechanical issues, please contact VanCraft immediately and let us know the situation. We do offer roadside assistance as an additional option. Our goal is to get you back on the road as soon as possible. However, if your vehicle is unavailable overnight due to being held at a repair shop, that night’s rental fee will be refunded.
- What kind of fuel do the vans take?
All of our Mercedes Sprinters use ultra low sulfur diesel fuel.
All Micro model vans are powered by Gasoline engines.
