In recent years, the trend of purchasing vehicles directly from the manufacturer has been gaining momentum. While traditional RV dealerships have long been the go-to option for many, there are several reasons why opting for a direct-to-consumer campervan manufacturer is the smarter choice. Let’s delve into why:

The Buying Experience

Have you ever heard someone say “I just LOVE going to the dealership!”? Yeah, us neither. The RV dealership is a dreaded place for many. From the pushy sales tactics and poor quality to the dehumanizing sales process, it’s no wonder people would rather opt-out of the dealership experience. Direct-to-consumer campervan manufacturers offer a streamlined and straightforward purchasing process that eliminates many of the hassles associated with buying from an RV dealership. With fewer layers of bureaucracy and red tape, the process is often faster, more transparent, and less prone to delays. Also, our team values every interaction on a personal level and strives to make you feel like you’re our only customer. We understand that we can’t control every moving part and mistakes can happen when manufacturing a complex product, BUT the one thing we can control is how we respond and make the customer feel. Our customers always come first and most certainly are not just a number on a spreadsheet.

Service

Buying directly from the manufacturer typically means you don’t have access to a robust dealer network for warranty work and service. With customers from coast-to-coast, we have learned how to effectively navigate the post-sale relationship, while making sure the customer feels well taken care of.

The RV industry is experiencing the lowest levels of customer service and satisfaction since the turn of the 21st century. Although we don’t have a robust network of dealerships, our customers frequently praise us for making them feel cared for and supported. Our customers have a direct line to the product experts, which results in very quick service.

Our technical support starts with a phone call and email to document the question. Our team then immediately gets to work. Historically, we resolve about 95% of post-sale warranty/service items over the phone and email with detailed and well-documented instructions. If our team needs to put hands on the vehicle, we can service the vehicle at any of our rental or service locations. We also freeze warranty claims based on the claim date, so if you raise a warranty claim 1 week before your warranty is up but can’t make it to our shop for another month, no worries. We do not hide behind our warranty. Rather, we pride ourselves on keeping our customers first and making sure they are happy.

Additionally, all of our systems are designed to be easily serviceable (thanks to the rental business model), so if you’re somewhat handy you can service almost every single system in our campervan with a basic set of hand tools under our direction.

Transparent Pricing

How annoying are hidden fees, required add-ons, shady pricing, and negotiation tactics…? The DTC model allows us, and manufacturers alike, to offer a high-quality product at a transparent and reasonable price. Cutting out the middleman means you pay less and get to deal directly with the product experts, not some slimeball salesman.

Quality and Craftsmanship

Direct-to-consumer campervan manufacturers are typically known for their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. By cutting out the middleman, DTC manufacturers have greater control over the quality control process, ensuring that each campervan meets the highest standards of construction and durability. Additionally, many direct-to-consumer manufacturers, like VanCraft, use premium materials and innovative design techniques to create campervans that are built to last.
